Knock, knock, knocking on Halloween's Door

What a year it has been. We hope you and your families are all safe and well as we enter Autumn.

As you will have read in the papers, heard on the radio or seen on the television, Food banks have been inundated with cries for help since the COVID-19 outbreak. Nourish Community Bank our local food bank in Tunbridge Wells have seen a 75% increase in referrals.

Following the huge success of the last two years, we will be once again this year supporting Nourish on the 31st October 2020 by asking local village children to knock on doors and instead of “Trick or Treating”, collect food donations for the food bank.

Slightly differently this year, in line with COVID-19 rules, we will not be hosting a party in the Village Hall but will still be opening the hall for donations to be dropped off.

We appreciate that some villagers may not wish for children to knock on doors for a number of reasons so ask houses in the village to either light a pumpkin or download this leaflet and stick it in your windows if you are comfortable for children to knock and collect your donation.

Alternatively you can drop your donation into the hall from 3pm on the 31st or to Laura White (Blackberry Cottage) any time before the 31st.

Over the last couple of years a couple of houses, who were ready for visitors, were not reached by the children. If this was you please let Laura know in advance of the 31st by emailing llblair_2000@yahoo.co.uk or calling 07790231183 and we will make sure that children knock this year for your valuable donations

The Food bank are grateful for any donations however for their latest wish list please click here.

We will be meeting at the Village Hall at 4pm on the 31st (at a social distance) and looking forward to seeing little witches and wizards then.

Thank you in advance for your ongoing support. Any questions please let the Village Hall Committee or Laura know.
